Installation
1: Remove the Speaker Grill
- Use a plastic trim tool to carefully pry up the center speaker grill.
- Tip: Perform this step in a warm environment to prevent clips from breaking.
2: Remove the Plastic Tray
- Use a 7mm socket to remove the two screws securing the plastic tray.
- Before removing the tray completely, place the bottom bracket of the dash mount into position.
- Center the bracket and mark five holes to be drilled:
- Two holes in the center of the small slots at the bottom (⅜" recommended for adjustment).
-
Three holes on the front face (closest to the driver, not visible when seated).
3: Remove the Plastic Trim Piece
- Use a trim tool or hook tool to carefully remove the plastic trim piece you just marked.
- Disconnect the center channel speaker wiring harness as you pull up the trim.
- Set the trim piece (with attached speaker) aside.
4: Drill the Mounting Holes
- Drill the five marked holes:
- Three smaller holes (about 1/16") along the front of the plastic trim.
- Two ⅜" holes in the center of the lower slots.
- Set the trim piece aside once the holes are drilled.
5: Install the Lower Support Plate
- Locate the four bolts in the tray that line up with the holes in the yellow zinc plated support plate:
- Two 7mm bolts near the windshield.
- Two smaller screws on the steel dash support.
- Loosen the 7mm bolts and remove the two dash support screws.
- Slip the lower support plate into place and tighten all four bolts securely, keeping the factory bolts centered in the bracket’s clearance holes.
6: Reinstall the Plastic Tray & Speaker
- Reposition the plastic tray with the center speaker attached.
- Reconnect the speaker wiring harness.
- Press the trim piece back into place; ensure the threaded inserts in the lower support bracket are visible through the holes you drilled.
- Reinstall the speaker grill.
7: Secure the Dash Mount Bracket
- Use the provided washer and bolts through the two lower holes. These bolts provide the mount’s main strength.
- Use the three thread-forming screws to secure the dash mount’s front face to the dash tray. Do not overtighten.
- These front screws reduce vibration but do not bear weight.
