Easy
Tools Needed:
- Ratchet with an extension
- 10 mm socket
- Pick tool (or small screwdriver)
- Two included Allen keys
Installation
1. Remove the Tow Hook Cover:
- Locate the plastic cover on the front tow hook with a rubber surround.
- At the top of the cover, you will see two small openings.
- Use a pick tool or small screwdriver to press down on both sides, freeing the cover.
- Pull the trim piece off and set it aside for reinstallation later.
2. Loosen the 10 mm Bolt:
- Locate the 10 mm bolt near the tow hook.
- Use your ratchet and 10 mm socket to loosen the bolt (do not remove it entirely).
- Slip the mounting bracket into place underneath the bolt, ensuring the washer remains on the outside of the bracket.
3. Tighten the Mounting Bracket:
- With the bracket in place, tighten the 10 mm bolt to secure it.
- Make sure the bracket is aligned parallel to the front of the tow hook.
4. Reattach the Tow Hook Cover:
- Take the plastic cover that was removed earlier and replace it onto the tow hook, making sure it fits snugly.
5. Install the License Plate Bracket:
- The license plate bracket has multiple slots, allowing you to adjust the position of the plate.
- Example setup: Align the bracket to tuck the plate up and over the front of the vehicle.
- Use the two larger bolts from the hardware kit and attach the bracket to the mounting bracket.
- Insert the first bolt with a washer, followed by the second bolt, and finger-tighten both.
- Adjust the plate bracket to your preferred position and then tighten the bolts using the included Allen key.
6. Install Your License Plate:
- If desired, you can use the BuiltRight license plate frame for a sleek finish.
- Place your license plate onto the bracket.
- Use the included fasteners and washers to attach the plate.
- Note: The use of washers (not included) depends on your state's plate hole size.
- Tighten the fasteners using the Allen key.
