Introduction
Installation of the Seat Back Tech Plate Kit for RAM is very straight forward and simple. We don't have a specific installation video for RAM just yet, but follow along in the F-150 video and the installs are similar. If you have any questions, contact us.

Installation
1. Headrest Block Preparation:
- Apply foam to the headrest mounting blocks:
- Peel the backing off the foam.
- Place the foam inside the mounting block.
- Trim the excess foam as needed.
- Repeat for the second headrest mounting block.
2. Upper Bracket Installation:
- Attach the upper bracket to the headrest posts using:
- 2 headrest mounting blocks.
- 4 12-24 button head screws.
- 4 black washers.
- Align the bracket with the headrest posts:
- Center the upper bracket on the seat, using the upper slot for reference.
- Tighten the button head screws.
3. Seat Teardown:
- Next expose the lower seat frame by reaching under the seat to remove the upholstery clips/elastic(clips that hook into the metal seat cushion springs will be used on some models, elastic bands will be used on other models).
- Once the upholstery is hanging, you will reveal the fabric that is over the seat frame. To get this out of the way, you will need to pry the two cleats away from each other. We find using plastic pry tools or a flat head screw driver to be the best method to separate these pieces.
4. Electrical Connections:
-
- When the seat frame is revealed you will need to remove any electrical connects that are push riveted into the seat frame. See the photo below:
- When the seat frame is revealed you will need to remove any electrical connects that are push riveted into the seat frame. See the photo below:
5. Lower Bracket Installation:
-
Mount the lower bracket using:
- 2x panel clips (align the holes with the seat structure).
- 2x 1/4'-20 bolts.
Once the seat frame is clear of any electrical connections you will place the panel clips through the large openings in the seat frame and use the two clear zinc 1/4"-20 bolts to mount the lower bracket using the two holes circled in red below. Note that the mounting bracket will mount up such that the tabs for the slots go up towards the head rest.
- After installing the lower bracket, you can reinstall any removed electrical connections using their push rivets into the 2 holes provided on the lower bracket on either side.
6. Tech Plate Test Fitting and Adjustment:
- Test fit the tech plate by holding it in place.
- With the upper and lower brackets installed, test fit the panel making sure that the 12-24 bolts can all be installed into the upper bracket and the 1/4"-20 bolts can be placed through the panel and through the lower bracket
- Once fitment is confirmed, remove the panel, tighten all bracket hardware and reinstall upholstery.
7. Reinstall the Upholstery:
- Zip up the fabric and reattach the elastic loops.
8. Tech Plate Installation:
-
Mount the tech plate:
- Attach the plate to the upper bracket using 3 12-24 screws (start with the middle screw).
- Attach the plate to the lower bracket using the 1/4-20 button head screw and nuts.
-
Tighten all screws to ensure the tech plate is securely mounted.

Not sure how the installation for the RAM is anything like the F150 aside from the headrest mount. The only thing to attach the clips to for the bottom bracket is the metal bar going from one side of the seat to the other. There is no way to install this kit with it there without drilling through the metal brace. For the RAM kit I advice you to not purchase until 1. The company comes out with a proper installation guide or 2. They make longer bracket so the bolt can make it through.
Hey Sherman,
Apologies for the slow response on our end, just stumbled across your comment. You are absolutely correct, we can do better on the installation guide. We had hoped to have our 2019+ Ram 1500 tester back in house by now to film the installation guide. As long as you have a 2019+ Ram 1500, and you received PN104121 then you have the right kit and it will fit. Most folks don't realize you have to dig deeper than the first layer of upholstery. There is a layer of upholstery held in by a J-channel that has to be removed as well, then everything will bolt up perfectly.
