Introduction

Installation of our Rivian R1T Cross Bar Mounted MOLLE Panel Kit is very straight forward, making use of factory mounting locations with zero modification to your truck. Getting the panels installed should take 10-20 min with simple hand tools but deciding how you'll situate your gear (the fun part) can take as long as you'd like.

Installation

1. Installing the Crossbar Brackets:

• Insert the track stud:
  • Slide the stainless steel track stud (with two pressed-in studs) into the OEM crossbar track.
• Attach the support brackets:
  • Position the support bracket through the opening in the crossbar and over the track stud.
• Fasten the washers and nuts:
  • Place one stainless washer and one nut over each stud and finger-tighten.
  • Use a wrench or socket to tighten them just shy of snug. Ensure the bracket can still move freely for adjustment.

2. Attaching the Panel to the Brackets:

• Position the panel:

  • Get your hardware within easy reach, then hold the Molle panel in place on the support brackets.

• Start the screws:

  • Begin by inserting two button head screws (with washers), one in the rear and one in the front, to hold the panel.
  • Finger-tighten them to prevent the panel from falling.

• Align the panel:

  • Once the panel is secured loosely, you can adjust its position. Ensure the panel is not resting on the crossbar and adjust to your desired alignment.

3. Tightening the Panel and Brackets:

• Adjust the alignment:

  • The sides of the truck bed are not parallel, so adjust the panel to match the bed trim or your preferred look.

• Snug the brackets:

  • Tighten the support brackets first to set the panel’s depth. Then tighten the panel screws evenly, ensuring it’s not making contact with the crossbars.

• Final tightening:

  • After aligning the panel and making sure it’s clear of any obstructions, give the screws a final tightening with the Allen key. Use the longer side of the Allen wrench to apply a small additional turn to ensure everything is snug.
