Introduction
If your rig came equipped with BoxLink Plates from the factory, you won't need the included screws. But if your truck did not come with the stock BoxLink Plates and has unthreaded aluminum inserts in the bed (like ours did), you will need to use the included thread forming screws. This hardware kit will allow you to cut threads into the inserts in your bed, start mounting equipment and securing your gear!
Install Time & Difficulty
5 - 10 minutes per BoxLink Replacement Plate
Easy
Tools
T30 Torx Bit or Allen Key
Impact Driver
Thread Cutting Oil (optional)
Included
- Box Link Plate
- 4 Tap Tight Screws
- T30 Torx bit
Installation
- Apply thread-cutting oil (if desired) to the screws to aid in cutting the new threads. Using the impact driver with the T30 Torx bit, begin threading the first screw into the aluminum insert. Thread the screw all the way in using the impact driver. Once the screw is nearly fully inserted, stop and back it out. Continue for 3 remaining holes.
- After all threads are created in the inserts, align the new box link plate over the inserts. Start by partially tightening one screw into the top hole to help secure the plate in place. Continue threading the remaining screws, ensuring all are securely fastened.
- Once all screws are tightened, ensure the plate is securely in place and properly aligned.
- Repeat for 3 other Boxlink Plates
